40m Takeover For Owls?

Yes, we know the rumours of a takeover at S6 have been more numerous than anti-Bryan Robson chants at Bramall Lane, but this one has come slightly out of the blue.

We all know of the desperation with all involved at S6 to get some kind of investment or takeover in place as soon as possible, and the Daily Star has today provided just a little ray of light as to the future of the club.

The national is today reporting that Wednesday are 'on the verge' of being taken over by a consortium from China for 40 million, which is news to us here at Vital Sheffield Wednesday at least.

Of course, there has been previous interest from a Chinese party, led by Carson Yeung, but the interest faded when Mr. Yeung decided to look in to Birmingham City instead, a deal which has since gone stale.

Could it be that Mr. Yeung, who was invited to a match at Hillsborough early last year by former Owls' chairman Dave Allen, has re-ignited his interest here at S6, or is the party a new one?

Yes, we know it's the Daily Star - but you know what they say, there's no smoke without fire, and it'll certainly be interesting to see just what fire is burning in the Hillsborough boardroom at the moment.

I'm sure it's going to be a few interesting weeks and months at S6, both on and off the pitch...

Good old red top rumour mongering. Either this will happen or I'll win the euromillions jackpot this weekend, and S6 is mine! Please let there be a lot of fire to this smoke............Ooh ah, daily star!
Please, Please, Please let it be through. Was in the Daily Star today in Ireland.
i think if anyones gunna invest there guna wait till end of season to see if we stay up or go down n go into admistration n get us on cheap
lets hope its sooner rather than later plz and one thing keep your flipping noses out and your gobs shut wednesdayite til its sorted
I can tell you it aint Carson Yeung! He still owns nearly 30% of Birmingham City and league rules dictate that owning stakes (chop sticks?) in two separate clubs is illegal. Birmingham, or the Fowls - Tricky one? Pie in the sky, my feathered friends. Anyhow, with the transfer window already slammed shut, it's still relegation for you lot this season, with, or without new owners.
Well, if nothing happens, Kaven Walker can always blame Wednesdayite again. It's not original but it seems that everyone buys into it.
Disgruntled Owl
