April Fools' For Owls?

April Fools' For Owls?

Wednesday saw their Championship clash with Coventry City put back for a second time due to bad weather on Tuesday night, with the club currently looking at new dates for the fixture.

Tuesday, March 18 and Tuesday, April 1 are the dates currently being looked at by the club, with the hope that the Owls' game in hand will finally be given the go-ahead.

Freezing weather saw Tuesday night's match postponed, despite the Owls' putting the undersoil heating on at Hillsborough, and head groundsman Steve Kiddy explained the decision to the official SWFC website.

'We have had the undersoil heating working to capacity for the past three days at 40 degrees centigrade,' said Kiddy.

'We just can't get the frost out of the pitch, even with the undersoil heating working to capacity, so it has just beaten us on this occasion.'

The clash with Chris Coleman's Sky Blues is the Owls; game in hand on their Championship relegation rivals, including City, and Wednesday fans will be hoping for no April Fools as they look to bag a vital three points.
