Peter Gilbert On Tough Task

Sheffield Wednesday's Peter Gilbert admits it's going to be a tough task for the Owls to stay up but says there's everything to play for as they battle for survival.

'We have a tough time coming up as the fixtures are starting to really clog up. In a way we want the games to come so we can start putting things right, but it's depressing if we're not winning them.

'We know we are good enough to survive. It's just a matter of keeping our heads up, not letting our confidence slip and trying everything we can to get a crucial couple of wins on the bounce.

'The boss has been really positive. He keeps telling us not to stop believing in ourselves. The fact is that we haven't been that bad. We simply haven't been able to put that run together.'

Adding, 'There are 15 games to go and that's a lot of points. It's all very tight at the bottom. We know there's everything to play for. I want to do my bit. I'll try to seize every chance I get to help Wednesday push on.'

Don't get me wrong I think we should get rid, not good enough for the blue and white shirt but did he say anything bad in the report?? Just sounded like he was saying ti how it was - didn't say he deserved to be in or that we only win games when he's playing like Lenny did. A little harsh on the lad I think

Agreed SuperOwls I read a diary entry of his not so long ago and he spoke of his love for the club etc and he seemed very genuine, just a shame he's not good eough to be honest. Hopefully get rid in the summer.
