Owls Eye Johnson Move
Wednesday have been linked with Middlesbrough winger Adam Johnson to bolster their hopes of Championship survival according to media reports over the last couple of days.
The 20-year-old has spent a fruitful three-month spell at Watford, getting rave reviews from boss Aidy Boothroyd in the process, but is unable to go back to Vicarage Road on a loan deal with three months the maximum allowed stay.
And Johnson, down the pecking order under Middlesbrough boss Gareth Southgate, has attracted the interest of a number of Championship clubs including the Owls, Burnley, Wolves and Crystal Palace.
The player failed to make an impact during a loan spell with Leeds United in October 2006 but could well be seen as the man to help the Owls avoid the drop this season.
Wednesday boss Brian Laws has been forced to let some of his current squad depart to make way for incoming loan players, but that could all change with the current takeover talk around the club.
