Baggies' Beattie Wednesday Bound?

With the Owls struggling at the wrong end of the table it's expected that boss Brian Laws will be linked with bringing in loan players, and the latest is West Brom's Craig Beattie.

The Sun is today reporting that not only are Wednesday interested in signing the out-of-favour Scotsman, but that Beattie 'has joined' Wednesday after jumping at the chance of some regular first team football.

The Owls have been short on numbers in attack following injuries to Akpo Sodje, Francis Jeffers and Leon Clarke but have also acted swiftly by bringing in Enoch Showunmi and Ben Sahar in on loan from Bristol City and Chelsea respectively.

But the latest talk of a multi-million pound takeover at S6 could well be moving ever closer, with funds being given to Laws to strengthen to make sure of Championship survival this term.

Beattie, 24, has fallen down the pecking order under Baggies boss Tony Mowbray, and reports state the club could well be looking to release the striker following the arrival of Luke Moore from Aston Villa.

But there has been no official word from either club regarding a possible move, so keep checking Vital Sheffield Wednesday for all the latest updates.

Beattie would be a great signing. I watch celtic every week and he was a very very good player, would have been playing week in week out at most sides in this division. Would be very happy if it was true.

Hey, how about a return for Kuqi (The oldest young man in the world). He's available now. :-)
Disgruntled Owl

maybe sahar could have a quiet word with shevchenko

Kuqi is more realistic. A dead cert I'd say. I'd also say how about some backup in defence Bri? He sure loves his strikers! Fair enough if Showumni & Sahar are only staying for a month, though we have to keep one of em until the end of the season surely?
