Owls Extend Showunmi Loan

Wednesday boss Brian Laws has extended striker Enoch Showunmi's loan spell at Hillsborough from Bristol City for another month.

The Nigerian international has been heavily involved in the Owls' recent matches since joining on an emergency loan deal and has had a hand in a number of goals, forming a partnership with Marcus Tudgay.

And with Francis Jeffers, Akpo Sodje and Leon Clarke all sidelined, and no incoming strikers on the horizon, Laws has bagged the powerful forward for another month at least, with a third and final month also on offer should all parties agree to the stay.

Laws is also set to discuss a possible loan extension for midfielder Adam Bolder, currently on loan from Queens Park Rangers on a one-month deal.

But Bolder will play no further part in his remaining two matches as a Wednesday player under his current deal, with a yellow card against Barnsley forcing him to sit out the next two matches through suspension.

I have quite liked showumni and bolder, showumni has looked more confident and sharper in every game he just needs a goal, hopefully he will get one or two tomorrow night, bolder I have liked aswell lets hope some of our injured start to reappear again soon! I heard esajas is back in full training which is good

Cannot believe we have extended his loan. A complete donkey who has no idea where the net is! He's had one good game and that was against Charlton. Send him back to Bristol and quickly!
will it ever happen

Holl I totally agree. Showumni has so much ability, he makes strong powerfull runs with the ball at his feet and tries hard to fight for everything aerial. We need Clarke and Burton out and weve got to sign this lad up asap. He was amazing against Charlton at home and a great game at Cardiff at home too.

Bit of split opinion then. Don't think he's up to much myself. Very similar to Sodje but without the aerial ability or the shooting ability. I think this shows that Laws hasn't managed to sign up anyone higher quality.

Maybe its the picture shown above, looks abit like he's just woke up. Can I ask WIEH, FBNW and Mick66owl where would the hustle and strength come from if he wasnt here?? Deon - I dont think so, Ben Sahar - No Chance, So Showumni and Tudgay is our best option for the minute.

hussle??? do u mean wen he attempts to run through people n falls over?? wat strngth?? never wins headers (except maybe for tuds goal vs cardiff) end product is nowhere to be seen!! anyone remember his simple 5 yard pass to sahar @ barnsley that didnt make it... i no it was windy but come on!! iv seen sahar n the boy can finish.. therefore tuds holdin the ball n winnin headers for sahar is our best bet! everyone is entitled to their own opinion n that is mine!!

Just a stab in the dark - you guys didnt go to Charlton at home? You sound very bitter as you went to Barnsilly vs Owls and were treated to the worst game of footie youve ever seen, I understand.

Preston have signed Craig Beattie and we've resigned Showunmi. I do find that a bit concerning.

I'm with you on that Disgruntles. Maybe PNE had more to lure him! I'm not impressed with what I've seen of this donkey so far. He'll have to convince me otherwise tonight. Can't believe BL is starting him over Sahar. Who's the donkey now?!

I dont think Laws has a clue when it comes to signing strikers up to now he's wasted good money on,Clarke,Jeffers(will always be injured) not sure about Sodje,Showunmis a donkey ,come to think of it his signings have been poor, could cost us dear and cost him his job IF THERES A TAKE OVER and money to spend

Sodje is the only one of those who have proved themselves. He is awesome. Scares the living daylights out of defences. Gets in behind them and chases absolutely everything like a nutter. The others are too inconsistant. Clarke has tons of potential (as shown at Southend), Jeffers is awesome on his day, shame he can only manage a few minutes a season, Showumni is a donkey, but should be a taller version of Sodje on paper. The lad is huge, yet seems to be scared of heading the ball, much like I was at 6 years old...........He should be scoring tons. I'm not convinced he's a player at all. To be fair to BL, he's attracting the best he can given our current plight. I have faith that Sahar will prove his worth soon. The lad is a very bright prospect. Otherwise, Tudgay is our best player. Industrious as ever, works damn hard. Burton needs to be given another chance at the starting 11 in my opinion. He scored a cracking header for the reserves last week and seemed hungry at Oakwell on Sat when he came on as a sub. D-D-D-D-De-on-Bur-ton!

can't believe they let M'clean go for free could have scored us 15-20 goals just what we need right now, the rest can only score in lge 1 so we should be ok next season

Bit of luck finally gone our way. Preston sign Craig Beattie on loan and he gets injured in his debut. Out for weeks.
