Owls Target Winger Loan

Owls Target Winger Loan

Wednesday boss Brian Laws is hopeful of adding a new winger to his squad before the weekend to cover for the suspended Jermaine Johnson.

Jamaican Johnson was sent off in controversial circumstances in the 1-0 defeat to West Brom during the week, but the Owls have decided against appealing against the decision by referee Andy D'Urso.

The jet-heeled winger had only just returned from a suspension for picking up consecutive yellow cards, and the Owls gaffer has been forced to look elsewhere to cover for the former Bradford City man.

Laws told the Sheffield Star: 'I'm trying to bring a winger in before the weekend and have spoken to the club concerned and the player.'

Middlesbrough wingman Adam Johnson has already been linked with a loan move to Wednesday after impressive during his three-month maximum-stay stint with Watford this season.

Hello everyone.I'm not new to Vital's Wednesday site my other login name was GAYES but I have had it changed. I just wanted to say that are we the only club in the league to a loanee player in almost every position? LOL. And I also wanted to say that I feel sorry for Brian Laws (not the other Brian ha ha) it must be hard for him to get these players to play the way he wants in such a short time.UP THE OWLS ! Forever Blue and White.

Adam Johnson would be a big ask. But i'd love to see him at hillsborough. If the we are still in the championship and we get the takeover, I'd bag Sahar on a season long loan, Sign Adam Johnson up for 2m, Sign Kavanagh, Showumni and Michael Johnson up permanant and most importantly show the door to Kenny Lunt, Deon Burton, Leon Clarke. - Im starting to like Adam Bolder too - marked Howard out of the game and worked really hard againts WBA

I agree BigAsh, I like Bolder too, think he gets stuck in but needs someone to support him in there, can't do it all. I did like Kav but don't think he's done anything for us since his return. Are Essais or Small too far away from coming back that we need to get another loan player in? I'm beginning to lose track of which players are actually ours!!

You're bang on bigash. Not about making those signings though! Sahar maybe, but not Showumni or Kav. Both have been poor in my opinion. We need some more steel alonside Bolder. He's ace at snapping at players heels, but we need a Whelan like character who will push forward and make intelligent passes too.......
