'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Laws Takes 'Scrappy' Win

Wednesday boss Brian Laws couldn't care less about the way his charges bagged three huge points against basement dwellers Colchester on Tuesday night.

The vital relegation six-pointer at Layer Road was far from a classic, with the blustery conditions making it difficult for any kind of flowing football.

But all the Owls boss, and Wednesdayites, were bothered about was picking up three big points to lift them out of the Championship bottom three, and they did just that.

'We had to really dig in deep and the wind was a counterpart where in the first half we had the wind and the second half it was against us. You could see in the second half we had the wind against us but we will take the result, if it's scrappy then we will take it,' Laws told the official SWFC site.

'To turn it round after going a goal down is pleasing, we seem to have a bad record for conceding early goals but the stats man tells me today that we have the best record of recovering from a 1-0 deficit so that surprised me.'

I'm sure Laws will be pleased with another 'scrappy' three points in another relegation tussle against Coventry City at the Ricoh Arena on Saturday, and so will we!
