Owl's Eye View - Colchester

Those all important Wednesday player ratings from Tuesday night, by our man on the spot, willowowl.

Grant: 6 - Two good saves in first half, came out well and was very brave when needed, some dodgy punches ruined performance, kicked well in horrible conditions.

Hinds: 7 - May have been at fault for first goal, was a little asleep, but had a blinder in the second half, nothing got past him.

Beevers: 6 - Found it hard to cope with the wind in the first quarter but once he got to grips with it he was fine.

Woody: 7 - As with Beevers he struggled at the beginning but was class in the second half, a captain's performance.

Tommy: 6 - Played well, tackled well but didn't close down enough. our weak link in defence last night.

Songo'o: 5 - Very quiet, some nice touches but lost the ball twice in our half when we were under pressure. Their full back seemed to have his number.

Macca: 6 - A bit lightweight, knocked off the ball a lot, played a big part in Wade's goal, helped the defence a lot in the second half when there was some pressure.

Kav: 8 - Best game I've seen from him in blue and white. Passed well, tackled back and great set-pieces. Still got a stupid haircut though.

Small: 7 - Getting better and better every time I see him, very composed for the goal and took a lot of pressure of the defence by running with the ball down the wings when needed.

Tuddy: 7 - Good game, lovely ball to Small for the goal and set up a great chance for Burton in the second half. Played well with Burton.

Burton: 6 - Average game, but scored the important first goal. Missed a sitter that would have made things a bit easier at the end.

Laws: 7 - Didn't do much, waved when prompted by fans as he does. Subs were late on: Showunmi for Songo'o, who had got a yellow and it made sense to take him off. BOB for Small right at the end to waste time.

Ref (Kevin Friend): 6 - Very picky but also fair, job made harder due to the wind but did ok. I didn't think the free kick that led to our goal was one, but who cares?

Tango: 10 - I know some people don't like him but he does make you laugh: when he got chucked out at half time the Col U fans were chanting to let him back in, with a good cheer when the stewards finally saw sense and let him back.

How about starting a get Graham Kavanagh a good haircut campaign? Eg, not one a 14 year old chav would be proud of. It is horrendous

I'm with you, S6Apple!!!

I thought kav looked better on saturday when he had someone to do the hussle and bussle in midfield that Mcallister provided, it allowed him to play his game, good on the young lad though playing alongside him its got to be doing his confidence the world of good
BIG TONY
Do you reckon McAllister will be dropped to make way for Boulder when he's back from suspension or will he be made to fight for his place? Who would people rather see play? Not sure I've seen enough of either of them to be honest but do like what I see in the young lad....a new Whelan or am I getting too giddy too early??
SuperOwls
macca deserves to keep his place
FUTURES BLUE N WHITE
6 points on the board in two games says it all, come on macca, a goal would top it off nicely!! bolder on the bench would be excellent backup and keeps the boys on their toes.

Sean McAllister is a shorter, younger version of Glenn Whelan from what I can see. Just what we need. We was awesome against QPR. Bolder gives too much away for my liking, always taking lumps out of players, hence the 2 match suspension. Don't get me wrong though, I like Bolder too. Just think we play far better with our own players rather than the 45 we have on loan. Is Enoch still at S6? Surely it's high time he went back down to Bristol!
S6Apple
at the mo I think that from the bench he gives us a few options, we don't have many so although I don't rate him it just might be prudent to hang on to him for now
