Beevers Rumours Continue

Young Wednesday hotshot Mark Beevers has already been linked with a move to Premiership high-fliers Chelsea, but a number of other clubs have joined the race for his signature.

The Owls Academy product hasn't even enjoyed a full season in the Wednesday first team but is said to be being tracked by a number of Premiership clubs including Chelsea, Everton and Manchester United, while Newcastle United are the latest club to be linked.

Beevers signed a new contract with Wednesday earlier in the season and with Wednesday subject to a possible takeover in the next few weeks, it could well be the case that the club don't have to sell to balance the books anymore.

Chris Brunt, Glenn Whelan and Madjid Bougherra are some of the names that have been sold to help balance the Hillsborough books, but should Beevers become subject of a bid, Owls boss Laws could well hold out without the need to sell.

A price tag of £1 million has been bandied around the local and national media reports but it's likely the Owls will be demanding a lot more than the reported figure, with Beevers arguably the brightest prospect to come from the Academy for some time.

Beevers has got his head screwed on. Dunt think hel be leaving 1st team football and the chance to become a wednesday hero to do a Bougherra with Newcastle!! Think well be seeing a few more Beevers on the back of replica shirts next year if he stays!

If a takeover is close and we're not in the need of quick cash then there is no reason to sell at all. If plans change and there is no takeover then I'd want minimum 5m. Would hope for around 8m. He's probably the best young talent in the Championship - a much brighter prospect than Gareth Bale ever was. Can't see him trying to escape like Madjid. He's Wednesday through and through.

Walcott £12,000,000 (+ up to 6 mil in extras) Bale £5,000,000( + up to a further 5mil in extras) We really need to be hoping for something similar as those two above, and not let our financial woes hamper our chane. BUT THATS PRESUMING WE SELL HIM, AND IF TAKEOVER GOES THROUGH THATS UNLIKELY :-)

We wont get £4million for him, i'll tell you that now, that's if we do decide to cash in!
will it ever happen
Beevers is an excellent prospect and that's whay big clubs pay big money for. It was a very wise move getting him to sign a new contract. Looking at previous 'Apprentice of the Year' winners, he should at least match their valuation.
