Warnock Backing Wednesday

Former Sheffield United boss, and self-proclaimed Wednesday-hater Neil Warnock has given the Owls his backing in the battle against relegation, believe it or not!

Warnock, who helped the red and white side of Sheffield to the Premiership before being sacked, brings his play-off chasing Crystal Palace side to Hillsborough on Saturday.

And despite previously insisting that if he ever managed Wednesday he'd do his best to help them towards relegation, good old Neil has given his backing to the Owls by insisting that he'd like Wednesday to stay up this season.

'Despite the stick I will get on Saturday, I am looking forward to it,' Warnock told the Yorkshire Post.

'And although they might think otherwise, I do want Wednesday to stay up.

'It is better for Sheffield football to have both clubs as high up the leagues as possible and I think Wednesday will stay up.'

The die-hard Blade has always had a tough time from Wednesday fans and admits it will be no different when he comes back to Hillsborough with Palace at the weekend.

He continued: 'It is always special going to Hillsborough because of the time I had on the other side of the city. I will get all sorts of abuse again on Saturday, I am sure of that.'
