Sahar Helps Israel

Wednesday loanee Ben Sahar continued his fine goalscoring form by bagging the only goal to help the Israel U21s to a close-fought victory over Moldova last night.

The hot Chelsea prospect bagged his first start on loan for the Owls in the 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace at the weekend and he made it two goals in a week in the UEFA European U21 Championship in Tel-Aviv.

The youngster also had a second goal ruled out for offside as his goal gave Israel their fourth win in Group 9 and send them level on points with leaders Geramany.

Another bonus for Wednesday boss Brian Laws was that Sahar came through the international clash with no knocks or bruises, putting him in line for another start against promotion-hopefuls Stoke City at the weekend.

And Laws, and Wednesday fans, will be hoping Sahar can make it three, or even more, goals in a week to help fire the Owls to a vital three points in their bid for Championship survival on Saturday.
