Owls To Extend Songo'o Loan

Wednesday loanee Franck Songo'o is set to extend his loan spell at Wednesday by another month despite the return from suspension from Jermaine Johnson.

The Portsmouth winger has enjoyed a fine spell at Hillsborough, seeing the Owls go unbeaten since his arrival to replace the suspended Johnson.

And Owls boss Brian Laws is all set to offer the former Barcelona product an extension to his current deal to give the the pacey winger some more games at S6, and offer competition for places in the relegation run-in.

Laws told the Sheffield Star: 'Franck is enjoying his football and he has certainly made an impact and a contribution.

'It also puts pressure on others to maintain their standards.'

Songo'o was due to play his last match in the blue and white stripes in the vital away clash at Scunthorpe but the deal could see him remain at S6 until the end of the season.

Good news! Rather have him than JJ though might be a good kick up the backside for JJ and make him up his standards a bit
SuperOwls
couldnt agree more JJs a waste of space. he's got the pace and ability to be a major asset. but basically he isnt.
owler
wen he had competition last season JJ was good so this can only be a good thing
FUTURES BLUE N WHITE
im just looking forward to seeing simek and songo'o link up we would be very dangerous then down the right
mansfieldowl
Good for competition, but honestly, I think JJ and Songo'o are very similar players. Both have talent but don't always show it and both have very bad decision making skills. Always want to take on the extra man and then lose the ball. I think we need as many fit players as possible for the run in, but maybe someone who could take free-kicks/corners would have been a better option, or a fast right-back to give some attacking strength to the right-wing.
Disgruntled Owl
we've got kavanagh for free-kicks n corners so why do we need anyone else???
FUTURES BLUE N WHITE
haha cos kav takes bout 5-6 of them even b4 he even gets a decent ball in... i agree with comments on JJ he is another player who we have that is lazy but has talent. but with comp 4 he's place he might be better just look at the way Deon B has changed his attitude.

This will go one of two ways. JJ will get mardy or will up his game. I personally think on his day, JJ is more effective than small. So when we're wanting to be attacking, Laws can play with JJ/Small and Songo'o together. Both can play on either wing. I'm expecting a few goals tomorrow at both ends. Looking forward to seeing Slusarski, and Stoke have just signed Ameobi. Sahar seems to be in form too. 3-2 Wednesday win

I think esajas is still better than jj and small
BIG TONY
i agree big tony, esajas has a good future if he knuckles down, would like to see songoo and small start tmoz with johnson and esajas coming on for last 20-25, wouldn't like to be a stoke fullback if that happens
dbblue
Got to admit to being a massive JJ fan. I think what he offers us outweighs when he's a mardy ****er! Totally with Big Tony and dbblue, we can run Stoke ragged. Who's starting centre mid? Kav and Bolder or Kav and McAllister? Frankly, I'd go Bolder and McAllister and send Kav off to barbers
HootingMad
I think Songo'o is class. Reckon we should try and sign him up in the off-season.
GameBurton07
Good to hear! Far better than JJ. He can cross a ball, shoot and not run into the corner flag most of the time!
will it ever happen
