Laws Ponders Enoch Future

Wednesday boss Brian Laws will wait until after the weekend clash with Stoke City to decide on whether to extend Enoch Showunmi's loan stay at Hillsborough.

Showunmi joined the Owls on loan after falling down the pecking order at promotion-chasing Bristol City, but has struggled to break in to the Wednesday side in recent weeks with the arrival of Ben Sahar.

And the latest striker addition of West Brom's Bartosz Slusarski to the Owls ranks could see Showunmi surplus to requirements at S6 for the remainder of the season.

But Laws will wait until after the vital clash with Tony Pulis' men to see if he picks up any further injury problems in attack and decide on Enoch's future.

Laws told BBC Sport: 'We are still unsure as to what we will do with Showunmi and we will make that decision after the weekend on whether or not to extend his stay.'

The Bristol City man has made six appearances in the blue and white stripes in his two-month stint but has yet to score a goal.

He was linked with a loan move to League One side Leeds United this week but with the transfer deadline now gone, it looks as though the lanky striker could be finding his way back to Bristol City early next week.

Get rid. Enoch hasn't offered us anything. Never looked like scoring. Pack him off to Leeds. We have Slusarski now.
