Sunderland's Connolly Owls Bound?

The transfer window has closed and the Owls have more important things to worry about - but newspaper reports are today linking David Connolly with a summer move to S6.

The out-of-favour Sunderland striker was linked with a loan move to Hillsborough in the January transfer window which never materialised.

But according to reports today, should the Owls survive relegation this season, the former Leicester City man will be winging his way to Wednesday come the end of the season to bolster the Owls' strike force for next season.

The Irish hitman has struggled with injuries at the Black Cats this season and has fallen down the pecking order at the Stadium of Light, making just three league appearances and two cup appearances for Roy Keane's men.

And with Keane looking to further bolster his Premiership strikeforce come the summer, Connolly will be one of the first names out of the exit door, with a number of clubs as well as Wednesday looking to bag his signature.

As a club, we like a challenge. By the way, what is the weather like in Sheffield? If this game tonight gets postponed again, I will be looking for lodgings!
