'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Owls' Relegation Round-Up

Wednesday will be wanting to keep their fate in their own hands with three points from Blackpool today, but a little help from elsewhere would't go amiss either.

Leicester City remain the third and final team in the Championship bottom three, while the Owls' also leapfrogged Coventry City on goal difference following their 1-1 draw with Plymouth Argyle on Monday night.

But Wednesday fans could well be left in limbo with Ian Holloway's Foxes side making the trip for a 'relegation six pointer' to Oakwell to face Barnsley - who are also in relegation trouble following their defeat to Hull City in midweek.

Barnsley could well be safe should they defeat the Foxes, while a win for Wednesday could potentially put the Owls four points ahead of the Foxes going in to the final two matches of the season - which includes a trip to the Walkers Stadium.

Coventry City face the easiest tie on paper, a trip to already-relegated Colchester City giving the Sky Blues the chance of a vital victory, although Chris Coleman's teams often struggle to perform away from home for one reason or another.

Owls fans will certainly be looking for a U's win in that one.

Southampton also sit just a point above Wednesday going in to this weekend's games, adn face Burnely at St Mary's, while Norwich City may not yet be safe with 52 points as they face a tough clash at home to West Brom. Two away wins will do nicely there.

The possibilities are endless for the Championship matches at the bottom this weekend, but one thing's for sure - an Owls win will do Brian Laws' men the world of good going in to the final two matches of the campaign.

we're down, simple as
i agree think we have just been relegated can see us getting a result anywhere now
we're a bag of nerves, typical wednesday! there's as much chance of us being taken over than us winning at leicester, and we wont win norwich last game
we are definitely down now. What a shambles!
Awful just Awful, dont know what else I can say just feel so deflated. Just think that at this point of the seaon theres too many players (loans) who know that win or lose they are safe in the mind that they back at their respectable clubs at end of season and they can leave all this sh#*t behind Songo biggest example of this today !!! If we go down this year we can only blame ourselves we had the chances to get outa this mess and we made a hash of them. Awful !!
If songo'o starts at leicester next week then there's something seriously wrong!
i said as soon as sean macca got injured then that was it for us..we just dont have a midfield!..there is still hope but i fear it is swfc rip yet again!
if we go down and the takeover dissapears like i think it will i just hope we dont go into administration. And will the boards stick with laws?
the board forced laws to sell brunt and whelan and bought in a load of poor loan signings if any body goes the board should and why should we pay more money next year to watch league 1 football iam of to church in morning for one last throw of the dice how the hell did we get into this mess again.
beverley owl
one word beverley the BOARD
oh ****
I know we've said this about the last two games, but the Leicester match really is a must win.
we have to pray that norwich dont get anything from there game with qpr next week then at least if we loose at leicester then we can stay up on goal difference if we beat norwich in the last game.
un lucky today boys. that leicester game is going to be massive for you. a win there and then match there result in the last game and you will be fine. much as i have no love for the owls i dont like to see you struggleing like this because it was bad decsions in the boardroom years ago that have got you where you are and no teams fans deserve that. so for the last few games only i will have my fingers crossed for you. if only so i can see us take six points of you next year lol.. good luck boys
Cheers mkblade, makes a change to see some blades on here who are real football fans with sumat sensible to say and who see the realism of the dire situation at hillsborough rather than just coming on here and slagging us off. Good on ya mate we need all the support we can get right now !!!
a just carnt speak. enough said
easy equation.. win 2 games or go down, nuff said.
were down then pete
mick, im not ready to give up on this team yet, these players will do it... i know it.
Whats happening on Wednesday mickowl66? Are coming back over to the blackpool board to eat humbl pie? MUPPET.
We're gonna stay up, we have to, we must, surely we will... ***** it, we'll beat Leicester and beat Norwich and Songo'o and Sahar will score bucket-loads.
we are goin takeover.....administration.....end of! :(
we need to hope norwich DO get something at qpr so they are safe wen they play us!!
