Another Week, Another Injury

Owls boss Brian Laws already has a treatment room packed to the rafters going in to the final two crunch games of the season, but Laws has seen his squad further reduced this week.

Midfielder Burton O'Brien is the latest name to be added to the Wednesday injury list and will miss the Owls' final two matches of the season after picking up an injury in trianing.

O'Brien started the Owls' clash at Blackpool at the weekend following an injury to Graham Kavanagh, but tore a thigh muscle in training on Monday, leaving Laws with problems ahead of the huge meeting with Leicester City on Saturday.

'There's no chance of Burton O'Brien playing for the next couple of weeks,' Laws told the Sheffield Star.

Laws added: 'We've going to have to play certain players though they're not 100 per cent fit; they're going to have to fight through that barrier for the last two games.

'We've suffered so many injuries that I'm almost reluctant to train the players in cause somebody else goes down. We'll deal with it; we'll get on with it.'

Laws may be forced to play with Adam Bolder and Graham Kavanagh at the Walkers Stadium, with the Sunderland loanee returning to the Owls' side in thr second half on Saturday after suffering a dead leg.

O'Brien adds to the already-huge injury list at Middlewood Road which is hampered Wednesday's season, with Francis Jeffers, Frank Simek, Akpo Sodje, Marcus Tudgay, Sean McAllister and Leon Clarke also sidelined.

Not heard that, but The Sun are reporting that Jeffers needs to see a specialist to see if he will play again!
