Beevers Heading For Merseyside?

Beevers Heading For Merseyside?

Wednesday defender Mark Beevers has already been linked with a host of Premiership clubs including Chelsea and Newcastle United, and now Liverpool and Everton are both showing interest according to reports.

The 18-year-old Barnsley-born centre-back has been one of the few shining lights in a disastrous season for Wednesday, breaking in to the first team and becoming arguably the first name down on the team sheet since his arrival from the youth set-up.

And his top class form, which saw him collect the Wickes Football League Apprentice of the Year for the Championship, has attracted scouts from up and down the country.

And Everton and Liverpool have both entered the race for his signature this summer according to media reports today, with a reported £3 million price tag being slapped on the youngster.

Beevers has been the brightest product to come through the Owls' youth system for some time, and Wednesday fans would be gutted to see the back of the hot prospect.

But with relegation a real possibility going in to the Owls' final two Championship matches of the season, and a possible takeover taking longer than expected, Beevers could well be winging his way out of Hillsborough come the summer.

Let's hope not...

Premiership with Liverpool/Everton, or League 1 with the Owls? Can't blame the lad. What will happen to the £3million?

If I was in charge and was given, say half of the 3m. We'd have Michael Johnson back in, Sign a decent right back, Carlos Edwards? have the ability to use Hinds in center. Make a cheeky offer for Steve Maclean, ahhhh its nice to dream......................................WE ARE STAYING UP, OH WE ARE STAYING UP.

if someone offers 3mil hes definatley gone, probably not be able to spend any of it and we'll be worse off than we are now. Cant blame the lad if he does decide to move on but i think it would be a bad move i mean how often is he likely to play in the prem. he needs to stay and get abit more experience.

if he moves now he'll be used as a bit-part for a few years until he's stronger/wiser. so i agree he should stay for a couple more years. We need to stay up!!!

Stop worrying !!! All is well !! just remember wat the board said lads !! "The price of tickets has to increase or we may have to sell our best players !!!" wat a bunch of hypocrites. I mean dont get me wrong if we go down I carnt blame Beevers if he wants to leave and Id wish him all the luck he deserves. But the board shouldnt make statements they carnt keep. UP THE OWLS

I think as the championship being a breeding ground for premiership players, anyone worth over 3mil will inevitably leave, unless the teams pushing for promotion soon. Losing Whelan for that much was an absolute steal, though id like to think we can get more than 3mil for beevers. wed 6, lec 0
