Sahar Future In The Balance

Former Wednesday loanee Ben Sahar is in line for a loan move from Chelsea again next season - but the destination is not likely to be Hillsborough.

There were rumours last season that the Israeli youngster could well be returning to S6 for a season-long loan spell next season should the Owls maintain their Championship status.

But it now looks like Sahar, who helped the Owls' to survival with his goal last term, could well be heading for pastures new, with a host of Premiership clubs seemingly interested in the hot prospect, including Harry Redknapp's FA Cup finalists Portsmouth.

Sahar said: 'I'm back at Chelsea now and we will sit down next week and discuss my future.

'I'll make the decision which is best for my future. I'm aware of interest from Premier League clubs and another one overseas.'

The 18-year-old bagged three crucial goals in the famous blue and white stripes during his loan stint at S6, which saw him turn out with eight starts and four substitute appearances.

Why would he want to be at a 2nd rate club ????
Tiny T
yepp think he will end up at another premiership club
mick66owl

mick66owl

SuperOwls

RatherRandomOwl

Not done enough for me for us to rush out and sign him. If premiership clubs are after him, what have they seen that I've missed, and aren't they supposed to play week in and week out if they go out on loan, so their clubs can see progress?

He's a fantastic finisher, with the right team around him, He'd get 20 goals a season easy......He managed 3 goals in 5 starts with our team, lol
Bigash
Yeah but we did score 7 goals in 2 matches!! He's a bit lazy for me though I'm sure you're right, with a decent team around him he would probably go on a score a bagful! Get Slusarski in!
SuperOwls
I wouldn't buy any of them really we have had on loan this season. There are plenty of better players out there, although songo'o would be a good signing.

Songo'o was also a bit lazy and didn't get stuck in enough for me - didn't seem to want to get hurt, maybe cos he was only on loan. For all his fancy flicks he didn't always choose the right place to do them did he. Not convinced he's much better than JJ or Esajas...?
SuperOwls
Can't see him wanting to go to Portsmouth with the number of strikers they already have, he would just collect dust on there bench at best, i think he could end up at a championship club next year as i still don't believe he is up to premiership standard, but most likely will go to one who will be challenging for promotion- so probably not Wednesday then!
tommyg
We need strikers at Pompey. Nugent is packing his case, Kanu is on borrowed time and that just leaves Defoe. Looks like we might get Crouchie but we will need some youth and I can't see Songo'o getting a start at Fratton Park unless the rest get food poisoning.
