Sturrock Pondering O'Brien Signing

Former Wednesday boss Paul Sturrock could well be re-united with former Wednesday midfielder Burton O'Brien after the Scot was released from his contract at Hillsborough.

O'Brien was one of seven Owls' players told they could leave the club as Brian Laws looks to build a new side for a more successful Championship campaign in 2008-09.

He was brought to Hillsborough by former Owls boss Paul Sturrock, and the Scot could well be set to make the move to Home Park to be re-united with Sturrock for next season if media reports are to be believed.

The midfielder enjoyed his best season in the famous blue and white stripes last season, ironically with Sturrock not at the Wednesday helm.

And his performances in the latter half of the season could well have attracted Sturrock to take him to the Pilgrims this close season.
