Room For Improvement?

Room For Improvement?

Wednesday boss Brian Laws has already come out and said he's content with his striking line-up for next season, but which area of the Owls team do you think needs improvement?

That's what we're asking you in the latest Vital Sheffield Wednesday poll.

Laws is counting on Akpo Sodje and Francis Jeffers to return to full fitness for the 2008-09 campaign, alongside Marcus Tudgay, Deon Burton and Leon Clarke to help fire Wednesday to an improved season in August.

And with one of the better defences in the Championship last season, led by player-of-the-year Lee Grant in goals, and further honours going to youngsters Tommy Spurr and Mark Beevers, Laws could be forgiven for looking to strengthen elsewhere, but there's always room for improvement.

Laws could well be looking at the midfield to spend the money that he has this summer, with Franck Songo'o and Graham Kavanagh returning from their loan spells to Portsmouth and Sunderland respectively.

What do you think?

Have your say now on the latest Vital Sheffield Wednesday poll, and on the Vital Sheffield Wednesday message boards!

revamp the central midfield area and a couple of wingers who will challenege Johnson for a place so he doesn't get complaicent and I think there'll be a big improvement and a respectable place in the league next year.

Agreed Shepsblade...are you sure you're not shepsowl??? Think if we can stay fit we could finish in play offs. A little optimistic??

More quality, bite and energy in the middle, I'm happy with our three wingers, though an improvement on their final ball would be nice. Most of all I still think a proven goalscorer would be the difference between a good and bad season.

Musts: Def LC, Mid C, Mid C, Winger RL - if we buy these four guys and they are quality, we fight for playoffs. Additional: GK, Def RLC, Striker - Will bring more stability.

haha, no SuperOwls, i can confirm, i'm very much red & white, but I take an interest in pretty much everyone else fairly local except L**ds. Play-Offs could be a bit too optimistic, but you have to improve gradually.
