'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Bullen Praises Allen

Former Wednesday chairman Dave Allen was hardly the most popular person at S6 during his reign at the club, but former club captain Lee Bullen has revealed he believes he did a 'great job'.

Bullen was allowed to leave Wednesday after his contract expired at the end of last season, and has since moved back up to Scotland after signing for Falkirk.

But, while talking about a potential takeover at S6 this summer, Bullen told the Sheffield Telegraph that he believes Allen did a great job during difficult times at Wednesday, and that his shares are key to enable a potential takeover to go ahead.

'The fan base and the potential are so massive that it's just right for somebody to come forward,' he said.

'I know football is always a gamble and there have been issues over the spread of shares. But Dave Allen has enabled any backers to get hold of 51%.

'I had a very good relationship with him and I think he did a great job as chairman. I know he'd like to get himself out now and that he'd be all too happy to hand over the reins after going through a lot of stress.

'Everybody has their critics but I can't say a bad word about him. I hope he gets the right deal for himself and that, if he goes to Chesterfield, he makes a success of it.'

Allen is a cretin, anyone who says otherwise is a cretin, think too many headers caused brain damage Lee, no wonder you cost us so many goals this season......

FUTURES BLUE N WHITE
Hardly any point in going over old ground again and everyones entitled to their own opinion.I think we'd have been well knackered though if he hadn't become chairman, apparently against his wishes.
BOUNCIN OWL
glad hes gone then if thats is opinion

Hang on? Allen got the 51% together? Ermmm...no. He claimed to be doing everything he could for 2 years and then the shareholders association came along and sorted it in about 2 weeks. Nothing to do with that arse Allen.

So now we all hate Lee Bullen? Honest to God, you are a fickle bunch. If that's your opinion that Bullen is probably glad he's gone.

Does it really matter what Bully thinks about Allen. I for one won't be judging him on these comments as he is entitled to make them. Bully although at times had bad games was a loyal servant to the club and a true professional. We owe him nothing but praise and support. Wish more of the squad had his passion and loyalty, wednesdayite thru n thru!!
Owlsmad
he shouldnt have said anything knowing most fans opinion of allen. if he didnt want criticism over it should he
mick66owl
Of course we don't now hate Bullen, don't be silly, but at the end of the day he knows the general feeling towards Allen from Sheffield Wednesday fans is one of dislike and contempt, so to go on record praising the guy is contrary to the general feeling of Sheffield Wednesday fans.
