'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Go Katy Go!

Britain's new modern pentathlon star (and keen Owls fan) Katy Livingston won a World Championship bronze medal on Saturday!

24 year old Katy, interviewed by Vital Sheffield Wednesday here earlier this season, grabbed her first individual podium place at the Modern Pentathlon World Cup in Budapest, and it takes her one step closer to securing a place at the Beijing Olympics.

She told the Pentathlon GB web site: 'It was an amazing day today. It blows my last few World Cups out of the water.' she said. 'It shows I can perform under pressure on the big day. I didn't have a good semi-final at the World Cup in Kladno and I was worried I might not make the final here.. once I was in the final I felt much more relaxed. Once you're in the final you can only do your best and I just had a good feeling about it today.' she added.

To put the icing on the cake, Katy's efforts helped the British women to a fantastic team silver medal too.

Since women's modern pentathlon - which combines fencing, swimming, shooting, riding and running - was introduced to the Olympics in Sydney, British athletes have taken half of the medals on offer.

And Vital Sheffield Wednesday will be cheering on Katy as she looks to qualify and keep up our excellent run of Olympic results.
