Burton Bags For Reggae Boys

Wednesday striker Deon Burton was on target as a second half substitute in Jamaica's 5-1 thumping against St Vincent and the Grenadines in an international friendly last night.

Burton had been included in the Jamaica squad, alongside fellow Reggae Boy and Wednesday winger Jermaine Johnson for the up-coming clashes, and Burton made an impression by bagging the fourth in a comfortable win.

Wigan Athletic hitman Marlon King was also on target with a brace, while Demar Phillips and Ricardo Gardner also found the back of the net in the five-star display.

Wednesday wing wizard Johnson was also part of the squad on Tuesday night, but was only an unused substitute in the victory.

But both will be on the plane, and hoping to feature further, for two more friendly matches against Trinidad and Grenada.

Jamaica: Donovan Ricketts, Ian Goodison, Adrian Reid (Jermaine Taylor 69th), Simon Ford (Keneil Moodie 76th), Evon Taylor (Richard Langley 82nd), Ricardo Gardner, Andy Williams, Demar Phillips, Rudolph Austin (Jamal Campbell-Ryce 65th), Ricardo Fuller (Luton Shelton 70th), Marlon King (Deon Burton 72nd). Subs not used: Shawn Sawyers, Obrian Woodbine, Jermaine Johnson, Omar Daley.

To be honest scoring against St Vincent hardly proves anything but we should keep Deon as a squad player, and as a player who we can have our fantastic chant about :) :) Deon Burton D D D D, Deon Burton D D D D D :) :)

just hope he can bang some in next season if he plays
Barton6435
We have better quality anyway, even if we play 4-3-3 he wont get a place, he'll just be a squad player. Hes too inconsistent - 1 good game for every 5 bad games. 3 up front should be, I think Esajas - Sodje - Tudgay, even then Jeffers on the bench
will_swfc9
Well Jeffers on the injury table, maybe Slushy playing if he joins , Hopefully :) :) :)

if some offers 50k for burton let him go and bring in the slush puppy
