Owls Draw Millers

Wednesday will face a repeat of last season after drawing local rivals Rotherham United at home in the first round of the Carling Cup, which was drawn this morning.

The Millers, who currently play their home matches at Sheffield's Don Valley Stadium, will travel to Hillsborough for the local clash on the week commencing August 11.

And the Owls will be hoping for a similar scoreline to the last time the two teams met in the first round of the competition last season, with a 3-1 victory at Millmoor seeing Wednesday through.

That clash was seen live on Sky Sports, but it's yet to be known what first round clashes will be shown live on the box this season.

Other notable ties include Sheffield United's home tie with Port Vale, Leeds United travel to Chester, Doncaster travel to Notts County and Bradford face a local derby with Huddersfield.

Full details of the clash will be posted on Vital Sheffield Wednesday as soon as they're confirmed.

The first Sheffield derby of the season!! Should be a good atmosphere with Rotherham bringing a few to Hillsborough.

Come-on the Millers

Anyone know yet what will happen for kick off times as there will often be 2 clubs wanting home games on Saturdays at the same time now Rotherham are playing over here. Will that leave us with crappy odd KO times??? Hope not. Rotherham should be the ones who are put out, not us or Blades
