Corr Injury Blow

Wednesday's bad luck in injury department continued today as Paul Sturrock recieved the news that young striker Barry Corr would miss the rest of the season.

The 20-year-old has picked up a stress related injury to his lower back which kept him out of the derby match agaisnt Sheffield United. He was used as a substitute against Southampton at the weekend though, which is thought to have caused a bad reaction.

Owls boss Paul Sturrock told the official SWFC site: ''I'm gutted for the laddie and the boy himself is inconsolable. Hopefully we'll have him back for the start of next season.''

The Irishman was initially signed as a development player by Sturrock last summer, but has impressed in the games he's played this season - despite not scoring a goal.

Sturrock continued: ''He went from being a development player to puttinh pressure on all the strikers.''

The injury will be a big blow to the Owls survival hopes this season, as the injury list gets bigger and bigger.
