Laws' Hope On Premiership Duo

Owls boss Brian Laws has revealed that he hopes to have a Premiership midfielder in at the club on a season-long loan in time for the start of pre-season training.

Laws is keen on bolstering his midfield following the departures of Glenn Whelan and loan signings Frank Songo'o, Graham Kavanagh and Adam Bolder and has already been linked with a number of players.

James O'Connor from Burnley is hotly tipped to complete a move to S6 for next season, but Laws is determined to add some Premiership quality to the middle of the park and is hoping to get his man within the next few weeks.

'I have been in regular contact with the managers and we are talking long term loans. Something could be sorted in the next week,' Laws told the Sheffield Star.

But despite tracking two men, Laws will only have the funds to bring in one of the two in light of the current financial situation at the club.

Laws may be looking to follow suit from a number of Championship clubs who've enjoyed successful season-long loans of Premiership players, such as Frazier Campbell at Hull City last season and Nicklas Bendtner at Birmingham the previous season.
