Owls Legend Joins Foxes

Former Wednesday skipper Nigel Pearson is the man entrusted with bringing Leicester City back to the Championship.

Pearson will bring his particular blend of determination and inspiration to the beleaguered Leicester side, becoming the Foxes sixth manager since chairman Milan Mandaric took over at the Walkers Stadium, a mere 16 months ago.

Our Nigel said 'I am delighted I have been given this magnificent opportunity to revitalise the fortunes of this great club after what has been a difficult few years.

I am confident my style of management can help bring the good times back to Leicester City.'

Foxes fans will be hoping for a semblance of stability at the Walkers Stadium, and that the revolving exit door stops turning for long enough to allow Pearson to get on with the job. Saints fans will look on with interest: Pearson's exit from that club was judged by many to be unfair. His influence on the side was just starting to become apparent as Southampton recovered sufficiently to stay in the division last season.

In other news:

The Sheffield Telegraph links Wednesday to Chelsea youngster Jack Cork, who spent last season on loan at Scunthorpe. The England U19 star is certainly a hot prospect, but we here at Vital SWFC (wait for it...) wonder if Cork has the bottle for Wednesday.

I had to say it.

Is Pearson completely bonkers? He must need his head read to take the Leicester job. I wonder if he spotted the revolving door on the way in?

He'll probably be gone by christmas, through no fault of his own. Hope he proves me wrong though.
BedfordOwl
I wouldn't wish that job on anybody. I will give him till Christmas.

How long will Nigel last working with Mandaric... He goes through manager like a kid eating sweets
Chix

Managing Leicester is worse than managing Chelsea no manager is safe if they dont win anything. Hope Pearson knows what he is doing. Would like to have seen him at Hillsborough as a coach. Good luck Pearson.
stuart_hudson78
bad decision by leicester really. they could have gone with a manager who didn't survive relegation by the skin of his teeth last year.
Just-an-Ipswich-fan
managers havent been much safer at hilsbora over last few years
mick66owl
Or alternatively, Just-ad-Ipswich-fan, they did go with a manager who had enough nous to keep a failing team up.

Agree completely Aukland Owl - my uncle is a Saints season ticket holder and they loved Pearson down there and think he did a great jobin keeping them up when even my uncle would have put money on them going down. Best of Luck Nigel
