Sotnick Out Of Owls Running

Former Boston chairman Jon Sotnick has ruled himself out of mounting a taking over for the Owls and has ended his interest in the club according to BBC Radio Sheffield.

Sotnick revealed his interest in the club towards the end of last season and looked to be in a two horse race with his consortium alongside Geoff Sheard and his backers.

But it now looks as though Sheard is now the only name in the running to takeover at Hillsborough after Sotnick revealed to Radio Sheffield that his backers have not 'shown the colour of their money' and that he is 'not at the table'.

Sotnick had previously claimed to have sufficient funds to rival the bid made in February by Lancashire businessman Geoff Sheard.

But now Sheard is the only known party to be interested in buying the Owls, although Deloitte have revealed they've had a number of enquiries about investing.

Here we go again. Can't see it happening, sorry to have my depressing head on but can you??? Isn't this the start of everyone backing out and we'll be in same position as we were last season.
SuperOwls
Was there ever going to be a takeover. If you believe there was then I bet you believe in Father christmas and the tooth fairy. Its all talk just to keep the fans quite. No other takeover has ever gone on this long not even Man U`s takeover.

Following his Boston experience, I'm not sure he was the right man anyway. Onward and upward.

im confident that eventually there shall be a take over! there arent any clubs with our potential (outside the top flight) available to purchase! if not this summer then soon and to be honest with a fully fit squad im not concerned i believe we,ll have a good season whatever happens
owler
i think we have a good squad just need to sort midfield out but dont think sotnick would have been good for us anyway
Barton6435
I agree, I think we should have a great season if we can keep everyone fit and bring in a couple into midfield. It's just typical us though isn't it - big news of a takeover...that never happens. So this Father Christmas bloke, not real you say?????
SuperOwls
Father Christmas isnt real ??????? youve just broken my heart he he he

On a more serious note. Gotta agree Sonick was never the man, a very half hearted token effort to jump on the takeover bandwagon, his history alone didnt fill me with any kinda confidence, where as Sheard ( if it ever does happen ) has a kinda exciting/ in our dreams kinda feeling about it. Lets just hope these dreams become reality. Personally I think it will go through. My Dads a Chesterfield fan so Im also on close tabs whith the Takeover there which all hinges on Dave Allen being released of his shares from Hillsborough so he can become chairman of Chesterfield. Barry Hubbard the current Chairman of Chesterfield stated that a takeover for them would be completed for certain before end of the season. With all this said that looks likely to be Allen which all has a knock on effect on our take over. Just keep an eye on Chesterfields situation theres alot a useful information to be gained from follwing the news on their takeover too i feel. UP THE OWLS !!!!!

GEOFF HORSEFIELD to join owls on a free transfer !!! Awful signing if true, now that really is scraping the barrell, and why a forward. Im one of Laws greatest admirers but come Brian, hope this aint true mate. UP THE OWLS
stevetheowl
no way thts true just papers havent got nothing else to talk about

you could do with shelton. i wouldn't be surprised if laws went in with a cheecky 1m bid. he'd score goals for you as he would be guaranteed first team football unlike at the lane.
