This week 'Who Are Yer?' speaks to Cardiff City fan Rhodri. The welshman talks play-offs, Dave Jones, and Ndumbu-Nsungu!
---------------------------------------------------------
1. Are you going to make the play-offs this season?
Personally I dont think we are consistant enough at the moment to make the playoff places. We certainly have the players to do so, but the squad doesn't have the depth that some of the other teams around us have, and that's why I think we'll just miss out this season. Hopefully we can build on this season's form for the next term.
2. What are your thoughts on Dave Jones?
Awesome. He's done a brilliant job with a shoe string budget and we were in crisis in the summer and relagation favourites so wherever we come this season is a massive success. He's also attracted some great players. He was unfortunate at his other club's and I think we're extremely lucky to have him at Ninian Park!
3. Will Cameron Jerome be at Ninian Park much longer?
Really hope so as I dont think he is ready for the premiership yet. I know Norwich have been sniffing around him and numerous other clubs have been mentioned - but the Championship is probably his level at the moment, and I don't see why he would want to move to other Championship clubs as we'll be up there next season. The only thing would be the wages he was offered.
4. You signed ex-Owl Guylain Ndumbu-Nsungu recently - how has he done?
He's only played 1 full game against Stoke and he did ok. He held up the ball well and worked very hard but apart from that has only come on for the last 10 mins in certain games so it's hard to say. Heard some good reviews on him and hopefully he'll do well for us once he gets a fair run in the team - but it will be hard with Jerome and Alan Lee doing so well!
5. Did you sign anyone in the January transfer window? If so - who?
Yeah we did rather well in the transfer window to say we're operating on a shoe string budget! We signed ANOTHER striker in Steven Thompson from Rangers - looks sharp and fits in to the side well - hopefully he'll build a good relationship with Jerome! We also signed Ndumbu from Darlington who you probably know all about. The final signing was Scimeca who also looks a good player.
6. Who are your danger men?
As everyone knows - Jerome is the main man here, and hopefully we'll keep him at Ninian Park. Without his goals we wouldn't be in our position. But another good player is Jason Koumas who will hopefully be signing for us permanently. He's only on loan from West Brom but creates all Jerome's chances and is probably as vital to the team as he is.
7. If you could take one Wednesday player to Ninian Park who would it be and why?
From what I've seen I'd have to say Chris Brunt he looks a very good prospect for the future. Looks like he has a great left foot, and would do well on our wings with Koumas on the other side! Although we wouldn't be able to afford him! Heard good things about another young defender Richard Wood as well.
8. If you could send one player from Ninian Park to Wednesday who would it be and why?
Hmm...I'd have said Andy Campbell in January but we sold him in the transfer window thankfully! We only have a small squad and we can't really afford to lose any of them at the moment - so there's your answer!
9. Phil Mulryne is being linked with Wednesday - what's his position at the club?
He's probably being linked because he hasn't had much of a chance here. I was delighted when we signed him because I knew of his abilities at Norwich - but he just hasn't got going with us. The players who are playing at the moment are doing well so he isn't getting a chance. I'm sure he'd do well for you - he needs to leave and get some first team chances.
10. What's your most memorable Cardiff Vs Wednesday match?
That's a tough one - we haven't had that many encounters in my time as a Bluebird - so I'll have to say the earlier 3-1 victory at Hollsborough where Jerome ripped you apart live on sky!
11. Are you hoping Swansea come up for a 'friendly' derby match, or would you prefer them down in League One?
To be honest I'm not too bothered. It would definately be a hot tempered game if they come up - it's not exactly a derby came like yours and Uniteds but the hatred is unbelievable! I suppose it would also be great for Welsh football to see them come up - as long as they dont finish above us and we beat them twice!
12. Do you think the Owls will stay up this season?
Yes I think you have enough to stay up this year - and build for next season. The three teams below you aren't really doing much to catch you up are they!? I'd love Millwall to go down!
13. What do you think the score will be?
Sorry, but I'm going to have to go for 3-0 to us. You're not doing well at the moment, and have just one away this season I think? Plus you have loads of injuries - and Jerome seems to love playing against you!
---------------------------------------------------------
Cheers Rhodri! I'm sure you're just about right there with the scoreline - couldn't have put it better myself! Check out the match preview tommorow on Vital Sheffield Wednesday for all the latest team news ahead of our game against the Bluebirds!
