Wednesdayite Deal Takes Step Forward

Owls fans group Wednesdayite posted this communication on their web site late last night:

'Wednesdayite can confirm that we have late this afternoon received by email from Mr Sheard a copy letter dated today (11th July 2008) from the bidder's Swiss based lawyers which we have immediately sent onto our legal advisers for their consideration.

It is hoped that this communication and any subsequent telephone/other necessary clarification will enable us to move forward on the matter of the bid received from Mr Sheard on 1 July.

We would re-iterate that despite claims in certain quarters, we are not blocking any bid or frustrating any ballot and can only proceed once our respective advisers are satisfied that the bid is legally verified in accordance with UK law and regulations.'

This information, plus the reassurances given this week by Wednesdayite chairman Darryl Keys on the Vital SWFC forum, and the Q&A posted on their web site on July 7th, gives the clearest positive indication yet that the situation is progressing towards the legal clearance needed for a ballot on the sale of shares to begin.

I won't hold my breath but it sounds like the takeover is moving another inch forward.

What a bunch of muppets. Are we going to be singing 'where's your caravan' when the season starts and Wednesdayite have messed up any chance of a takeover and someone torches their sorry little caravan? I wonder why would Wednesdayite sell their shares. According to their motto they are here for the voice of the fans(very small bunch of us, i mean them) so why would they sell. They wouldn't have a say for the few sheep that follow. They would stand for nothing without those shares. They are here to stay unfortunately and they are going to use properganda to turn us against anything else that happens and they look like the saints. If they were Al Quida all the fools that signed up would be dead by now because they would all be suiced bombers. Up the owls. F**k off Wednesdayite and go and join Leeds or the pigs.

relax everyone..... we have our best players back from injury, with a manager we've actually stuck by for more than a year, so lets all be content that we finally have a wee bit of stabilibilty and a big takeover is in the pipeline, lets all cross our finger and be positive. Its gonna be a good season either way

Oh look yet ANOTHER couple that are having a go at Wednesdayite, now theres a surprise.
Skeggy Owl
Yep, complete ignorance skeggy owl, the guy obviously doesnt have a clue how Wednesdayite work
johnnywalker69
ahhh the joys of the anti wednesdayite debate. I think ive made it clear what side of the fence i stand in previous comments... but at least its a step forward.... admitedly if it hadnt of been for wednesdayite the chances are the deal would be done and we would have a chance to build a semi decent squad for next season... but hey, im sure wednesdayite have thought about that.... with there magical and footballing superpowers no doubt they can get the transfer window extended just for us

... and another one!!
johnnywalker69
If Wednesdayite didnt exist, how could the deal have been done by now mansfieldowl? Wednesday's board members havent even sold their shares to Sheard yet, some of them are even denying that they have had contact with Sheard.
johnnywalker69
spot on mansfield,i mean what differance does it make how much wednesdayite get for the shares, its not their money anyway, please hurry up and sell, give brian the money, then wednesdayite can disband, then we can have a peaceful forum, all wednesday fans can have friendly banter instead of being at each others throats.anyway off to see the lads in amsterdam hope i dont see any of mr keys mob.
ecco owl
I'm all for people sharing and having a difference of opinion, but please, read and try to understand a little of the topic before making childish comments like comparing Wednesdayite members to suicide bombers and hoping you don't see any Wednesdayite members in Amsterdam
johnnywalker69
From what I understand, wednesdayite are following a legal process bound by Uk law, however frustrating and believe me nobody is more frustrated and desperate for this to happen asap than me, law is law. Like in life, there are some laws we like and some we don't but unfortuntely, we can't pick and choose which laws we abide by unless it's Brian of course!
sussexowl
well said sussexowl

The only time this will be a peaceful forum is when the likes of you Ecco are not involved. You come on here making statements without having any evidence whatsoever to back them up. You really must put some thought into what you are typing, even though that will be difficult to do, because all that I see is a load of *********.
