Sheard Clears Major Hurdle

Sheard Clears Major Hurdle

The Yorkshire Post reports that the Geoff Sheard consortium has secured a commitment from the remaining major shareholders to sell.

Former board member Keith Addy and director Geoff Hulley met with Sheard in Sheffield today and appear to have ground out deals for their respective 10% stakes in Wednesday.

Irrespective of the result of the Wednesdayite ballot, the consortium would now appear to have access to the 30% it needs to take control at S6, with former chairman Dave Allen agreeing to sell some time ago.

Geoff Sheard must now provide proof of funding and arrange for his lawyers to tie up with those of Addy and Hulley within the week.

A major step forward towards a regime change at Hillsborough.

LOL second that YankeeOwl i just woke up after a nap and read this and I need a pinch to make sure I ain't still asleep dreaming can it be true finally after all this time!!! if so get in there! Irrespective of the result of the Wednesdayite ballot, the consortium would now appear to have access to the 30% it needs to take control at S6. This is the best news poss cos at least now it would give BL and Sheard some time to bring in some players b4 the start of the season!!! Looking at who's available Ben Watson would be the ideal midifeld general we've been crying out for since Whelan left, get Adam Johnson in on loan and then all we'd need is some defensive back up and a 20goal+ striker. And get the youngsters and the likes of Simek and Spurr on better contracts and on the back of a good pre-season for once and for once touch wood a clean bill of health too things are looking up!!! The future's bright the future's blue and white!!! *WTID*
