Owls Sweat On Sodje

Wednesday fans may have left Hillsborough full of smiles on Saturday, but there was one sour point with the injury to striker Akpo Sodje midway through the first half.

The former Port Vale man ran the Burnley defence ragged in the first 20 minutes, bagging a brace to help Wednesday to a 3-1 lead early on before leaving the pitch through injury.

The news was worrying for Owls fans, who've only just seen Sodje return from an injury which kept him out for the majority of the second half of the season last term.

And Wednesday boss Brian Laws will be awaiting the scan results on his star striker this week in the hope that Sodje isn't out for a long spell.

He said: 'Akpo has got a possible hamstring injury, he won't play on Tuesday but I don't know how long he'll be out.'

Leon Clarke could well continue in attack on Tuesday against the Millers, while Francis Jeffers has also been rumoured to be making his return from injury on Tuesday night.

DON'T LOOK GOOD but lets hope its only minor

It was a real blow to see Sodje go off, but we continued to create and dominate without him. I know that Leon Clarke has struggled a bit and he contunues to look short of confidence (especially when through on goal with only the keeper to beat), but he did show some nice touches and who knows? maybe he will come good after all!
