Owls' Maclean Injury Fears
Wednesday boss Paul Sturrock will be sweating over the result's from Steve Maclean's scan this week, with fears that the Scot may play no further part in the battle against the drop.
Maclean picked up a toe injury prior to the 1-0 defeat against Cardiff City at the weekend, and if scan's show the toe is fractured, it will mean another set back for the former Rangers man - who only recently recovered from a broken leg.
The news will be a big blow to the Owls - who have only scored three goals in their last eight matches, and recorded a fourth successive defeat at Ninian Park on Saturday.
Sturrock has been looking for defenders and midfielders to bring in on loan over the last few weeks but has so far been unsuccessful. He may now switch his priorities to a striker, after losing Barry Corr for the season last week.
Marcus Tudgay, Leon Best, and Deon Burton are the only fit strikers at the club and it's likely Sturrock will have to rely on the trio for the weekend clash against Queens Park Rangers on Saturday.
