New Man In For Saturday

Owls boss Brian Laws has revealed that he's hoping to add a new signing to his squad in time for Saturday's visit of Preston following the injury to utility man Richard Hinds.

Laws is looking to add a defender to his ranks to plug the gap left by Hinds, who broke his leg in the 4-1 defeat at Wolves in midweek and will be missing for around three months.

And with Frank Simek also sidelined through injury, Laws is short in the right-back area, although Steve Watson or Peter Gilbert have featured in the position during pre-season.

The Wednesday boss admitted he only has funds in 'extreme' circumstances, with any takeover from Geoff Sheard yet to be completed.

No names have been linked with a move to S6, though it's expected Laws is only going to bring in a loan player with his current funds available, and Frank Simek on the return from injury.
