Owls Look To Cork

Wednesday boss Brian Laws is looking to bring in another Chelsea youngster in the shape of Jack Cork according to several media reports today.

Laws has revealed that he's hoping to bring a new face in to bolster his squad following the injury to Richard Hinds at the weekend which will keen him out of action for around three months.

And Chelsea youngster Cork, who was linked with a move to Hillsborough in the close season, is the name being linked with a season-long loan at S6, to join Chelsea team mate Jimmy Smith at the Owls.

Cork enjoyed a superb campaign with Laws' former club Scunthorpe United playing in midfield, but the 19-year-old can also play along the defence - an area which Laws is looking to bolster.

And the Owls' improved relations with the Premier League club in recent seasons, which drew them praise from the Stamford Bridge club for the way in which Ben Sahar was treated during his loan spell last season, could well mean we see Cork arriving at S6 in time for Saturday's visit of Preston.

On the scab again. Scrap loan signings and your club would be where they belong, blue square.
