Sturrock Chaces Euro Ace

Owls boss Paul Sturrock will keep his eye on the European fixtures this week as he aims to bolster his squad ahead of the weekend clash with QPR.

Sturrock has revealed that he will have to wait to see if the unamed player comes through the midweek match unscathed - but is not giving away any clues to who it is.

Liverpool 'keeper Scott Carson has been one named mentioned - with a goalkeeper high up on Sturrock's priority list after the long-term injury to number one David Lucas.

His links to Scotland will also link him with a move for a Rangers player - with the Gers facing Villareal in the knock-out stages of the Champions League.

The Owls will hope to have at least one new face in for the weekend, after the collapse of deals for Wolves midfielder Colin Cameron and Jason Jarrett from Norwich City this week.

Wednesday fans will be keeping an eager eye on the Barcelona Vs Chelsea match tonight with the hope that both Frank Lampard and John Terry get through the encounter in one piece...
