Stokes Deal Hots Up

Stokes Deal Hots Up

A deal to bring Sunderland striker Anthony Stokes to Hillsborough on loan is hotting up in today's papers, with Wednesday hot favourites to acquire his services.

Sunday's News Of The World reported the out-of-favour striker was all set for a move to either Hillsborough or Leeds United on loan, with Wednesday favourites for the deal with Sunderland boss Roy Keane keen for him to play at Championship level.

And now more reports are insisting the former Arsenal trainee is all set for a move to S6 to bolster Brian Laws' attacking options ahead of Saturday's trip to Swansea City.

Laws is without Francis Jeffers and Akpo Sodje, who both picked up long-term injuries early in to the season, leaving him with three fit strikers at his disposal.

And with Stokes down the pecking order at the Stadium of Light, he could prove a successful signing for Wednesday and continue the links between the Owls and the Black Cats.

Would be a good signing but still cant see it. i know they say theres no smoke without fire, and this story is in just about every paper today by the sounds of it but equally, theres no signings without money!

laws says not but you never know if someone is moving out to free some wages up. this also says jeffers is no where near being fit

what a joke jeffers is. windass will be a good signing and will bag you some goals, stokes is a good player - his wages would be interesting but nevertheless at least laws is trying to do something about the current problems.

BFL is usually pretty obnoxious guys, but fair play - he had an opinion, not just the usual tripe him or his piggy friends turn out. My hands are still up though!! ;)

I wish BLF would come on and have a normal conversation like this more often instead of boring us with his usual anti-Owls drivel that, to be honest, I just don't even read.

I'll talk Wednesday and football in general with anybody (even utd fans) providing they talk sense, if BFL wants to air his views on goings on at S6 in line with above then fair enough.

Anyone who wants a rational conversation is welcome on here, but you just let yourself down sometimes BFL. We can all talk crap about other teams/supporters, but it's much better to have decent discussions, even if your opinion differs.

100% agree with you there us owl - but 95% of the time you lot always have cheap swipes and dish out insults to many others. you need to learn that if you are going to slag other teams and individuals it's going to come straight back at you twice as fast. you can dish it very well indeed, but when it comes back you, you all start crying and wonder why!!
