Jeffers Reveals Owls Frustrations

Injury-ravaged Wednesday striker Francis Jeffers has revealed he's working harder than anyone to get back to full fitness following his injury frustrations.

Jeffers has endured bad luck on the injury front throughout his career, something which hasn't changed since he joined Wednesday last summer from Blackburn Rovers.

The 'fox in the box' made his comeback in Wednesday reserves' 3-1 victory over Port Vale at Hillsborough on Tuesday night, putting in an impressive performance in his half-hour substitute appearance.

And although he's desperate to get back to full fitness and start showing the Wednesday faithful what he can do when fit, the former Arsenal and Everton man will be taking no chances on returning too quick.

'The frustration has been unbelievable. I don't think anyone knows or understands unless they've been through it,' Jeffers told the official SWFC website.

'Its been frustrating for everyone, I know that. Myself, the fans, the manager, the people upstairs at the club. It's been a long process but I'm getting there.

He continued: 'It's not as if I'm trying to get through four or five games before going in to the summer. It's far more important that I play 35 games rather than the next five and risk breaking down again.'

But how long will it last?

jeffers is a quality player and will make us a better side, he has to stay clear of injury!!!! sodje and jeffers up front would really set us on fire, anyone know how long before sodje is likely to be back?

Wasn't mid-October mentioned for Sodje?

Do you think we'll ever see Sodje and Jeffers together? Is our squad just some strange game of fantasy football? I may be a mite pessimistic but I expect to see Clarke play more often than either Akpo or sicknote.
