'If It's Football, It's Vital'

New Editor Introduces Himself

Hello, my name is Ashley Ball and I have done a few articles for this site before. I`m fast approaching 20 years-old and I study (sometimes) Sports Journalism at Huddersfield University. So writing for this site, will be both enjoyable and a good experience for me.

I can remember my first Wednesday game: it was in the 1995/96 season and was a 3-1 defeat to Queens Park Rangers. My hero then was Marc Degryse, perhaps it was his style of play or exotic surname that endeared me to him. I was a season ticket holder through the dark days under Shreeves, Yorath and Turner and I have enjoyed the majority of the comeback under Sturrock and Laws from both the Kop and the South Stand.

My main aim for this site is to inform you Vital members about the academy. I take great interest in youth football and hopefully I can provide you with some reports on youth matters. I will also be posting some reserve news up and I hope this additional coverage will be of interest to you.

Keep a lookout for articles,

Ashley Ball

Laugh away not so sharp oinker, I feel that with the property slump gaining momentum and the said dealings of your astute chairman it may well be the boys in blue and white who have the last laugh, think very carefully about why your squad has been trimmed so drastically and very little money is being spent, the purse strings have been tightened and you lot have sat and watched your assets slowly but surely diminish, the clock is ticking!!

Don't think so, you only have to look at what Mccabe is worth to realise we'll be just fine with him in charge. Now turning back to your mess, you are 20 odd million in debt and have a fraudster making you look the idiots you are plus writing begging letter to him because he was abused by a few snorters after the Wolves match. I'm loving it, just bloody loving it!

It amuses me that so many stupid pigs think he's the saviour to your desperate club when anyone with an ounce of sense can see he's a fraud. That petition was one of the most stomach churning things i've seen in a long time. I'm making sure i rub your noses in the trough as you deserve it for being the thick pigs you are.

In the past, I know you keep looking at the past when you had the likes of Waddle etc but look at your club now. No money, shabby stadium, fans leaving by the thousands. The future is most definately Red and White and we are proving this by the attendances we are getting. How many years have we finished abouve you now? Your club is finished and your deluded fans will be at Don valley watching Sheffields second biggest team soon.

so you think mcabe is wealthy, of course it is common sense to think that the indestuctible one's property investments haven't been affected by the slide, and you think we're deluded, go away oinker boy and check to see if any more of your players have left so mcabes empire can remain solvent

look little piggy if we sold our tickets at £10 a piece we would have 30 odd thousand crowds every week like the norwich game last season. you thick piggy tw*t.your only getting bigger crowds now, because your practically giving them away.and watching that kind of football you'll need to keep doing that to get anybody in to the sty to watch the big boot show.

Keep looking up at the Mighty Blades. We have the likes of Beattie while your stuck in the brown stuff with the likes of Clarke. Premiership here we come.

I think one of your first jobs Aball is to see if you can get this pr1ck Sharpblade banned from this site. Its been said loads of times but if rival fans want to come on here and have a decent conversation about football then fine.

Typical Blunts, caring as much about Wednesday as their own little club. Take it as a compliment, fellow Owls, I do! They love us!

just for the record ecco owl we sold 600 kids tickets at a tenner and this isnt allowed to be counted in the actual gate attendance log. the 10 quid deal only applied to new junior season ticket holders. we have sold 19,500 season tickets at full price compared to you 7,500. simply proves we are the best supported club in sheffield by far!!

Typical (and unfortunately expected) disrespect from Blunts who use the space under an article where a guy is merely introducing himself to Vital to get their petty misguided digs in. Welcome to the team Ashley, we'll get more time to talk when I get back from my hollibobs. Looking forward to reading your stuff.

I shall be hoping to report on the links abroad too. Hopefully, I might be able to speak to someone from the clubs. As far the completely unrelated comments above. I don't mind, I'm used to it. As mentioned in the article I just hope to bring you news on the academy as well as a better insight, to a relatively poorly covered area of the club which is vital to us at this moment in time.
