Black Cats' Edwards Linked With Owls

Black Cats' Edwards Linked With Owls

Sunderland's Trinidad and Tobago winger Carlos Edwards has been linked with a loan move to Wednesday according to local reports in the North East.

The jet-heeled wideman has failed to feature in any squad for Roy Keane's men this season and the Owls could well benefit from the Stadium of Light club loaning Edwards out to get regular first team football.

And Wednesday are said to be one of the club's leading the race for his signature, with Cardiff City another Championship club interested in his services.

'There has been interest in Carlos and I'll have a chat with him,' Keanr told the Sheilds Gazette.

Wednesday have already forged good links with the Black Cats after Keane allowed Graham Kavanagh to come on loan to S6 last season.

And with Wednesday already showing previous interest in the winger/right-back, they could well be lining up a bid to bolsted their ranks with the international.

I think this story is rubbish. We don't have a money to pay for it and even if we did we don't need another winger. Cover in defence is much more of a priority.

He can play right back, and is a very good one at that.

As Reading were ripping our defence to shreds and walzing through the weakest centre midfield i've ever seen, the first thing that sprung to mind was mmm... What we need is another winger!

a decent centre midfielder would be nice and preferably one who doesn't let the game pass him by.

it was only a couple of days ago people were praising oconnor and mcallister and our defense so dont completely flip. Will say we need an old head at the back they seemed to stop after gifting them the first 2 goals

Precisely.... we need someone at the back in the mold of Michael Johnson. Not him, but someone who will have a similar effect on the defence like he had last year, plus someone in centre midfield who is big, strong & can control the middle of the park. What we don't need right now is a winger, or a right back - unless McMahon will be going back next week.
