Owls Takeover - Still Confident?
The soap opera of a takeover at Hillsborough has had more twists and turns than a rollercoaster - have you kept the faith?
Geoff Sheard's proposed takeover of the club has gone from positive to negative, and back again, for what seems like forever, leaving many of us to take updates in the media with a pinch of salt.
But one thing's for sure - it's getting frustrating.
Reports in the Yorkshire Post, as reported on Vital Sheffield Wednesday last week, linked Sheard with a convicted money launderer, pouring fresh doubt over any deal would be completed ever, let alone in the next few weeks or months.
But Sheard has since hit back saying that he's still 100 per cent commited to completing a takeover at S6, and as soon possible, and still turned up at Hillsborough to watch the Owls' 0-0 stalemate with Ipswich Town.

He doesnt have to move on for someone else to bid for the club. No need to wait for this saga to come to an end before they bid, any rival bidder end it with one swipe of a Bic in their cheque book. If someone else was there im sure they would have declared it by now.

Does ANYONE know what the hold up is??? I just don't get what we're waiting for if the money really is there, which I'm beginning to doubt it's not along with everyone else. P!sser.

Oi sharpblade, if ur bored reading Wednesday forums then i hate to think what would happen if u read a United one. Obviously wednesday forums are more interesting than urs as u always seem to be on here. n Skeggy, yes i understand that, i suppose my point was more that Sheard doesnt need to step aside for someone else to bid for the club. I know Daz said there were other interested parties but they havent taken it any further yet, if any1 seriously wanted us im sure it could be pushed through pretty sharpish now its established every1 is willing to sell.

At a guess the hold up is one of two things, 1: Sheard does not have the money to bid and never will or 2: He is no trying to secure the funds from investors after getting " his foot in the door ". Which may be a tad difficult in today's economic climate

Wasn't there somebody who tried to take over Man U years ago, only he didn't have the money. He did, however, manage to drum up business for his company(/ies). Sheard's probably doing the same, and we're too gullible to think otherwise. And Bluntcu*t, do us all a favour, and shut up. Most Owls fans are up for a bit of a banter with the Blades, but we hate****s that waste our time.

I agree it`s time that we moved on from Sheard.
I thought Sheff Wed were paying Deloitte`s to find us a host of other investors so why don`t they nip down to the United Arab Emirates they seem to have a few bob to spend on football.

Well this subject has been beaten to death,buried six feet under and then stamped on! All I can say is that Mr Sheard is not winning any friends at S6 with this takeover saga. IF he does take over now I reckon it will take him a few years to be deemed our saviour!

I agree Thatcham, he ain't wining us over now is he?!? He needs to get a move on and either show the colour of his (or should I say their) money or walk away and leave room for serious investors. Not that anyone would want to invest in this shambolic board. Lets just hope the talking on the pitch lives up to more than the talking off the pitch.... Wednesday til I die!!!

why would anyone invest in you poor relations? all the big money men are going to come to the lane where there is a miles better nucleus, better players, more return on investments, bigger crowds, better and more modern stadium and no debt!! get real you back back jockeys!!!
