Simek Set For Owls Return

Injury absentee Frank Simek is set to make his first run out of the season when he features for the Owls reserve side in their clash against Bradford City at Stocksbridge tonight.

Fans' favourite Simek has been sidelined since suffering ankle ligament damage against Crystal Palace last season and his return will be a huge boost for Owls boss Brian Laws.

But the Wednesday gaffer won't be rushing him straight back in to first team action, with Middlesbrough loanee Tony McMahon impressive and having a further two months added to his loan spell at S6 recently.

The decision to bring McMahon in on a loan deal will allow the USA international time to make a proper recovery, and not be rushed straight back in to Championship action.

The reserves kick-off at 7pm tonight at Stocksbridge.

Thought he was a decent player when at QPR - solid full back.

Ah, could this be the light at the end of the tunnel we've been looking for. Franny Jeffers is almost there and Simek is starting the final steps of recovery. Surely we must have some luck for the rest of the season with injuries?

Mcmahon is a pretty useful fullback i think but i'd have Simek over anyone!! Frankie has to be one of, if not THE best right back in the Championship and we've sorely missed him! Let's all hope that with Simek on the mend and Sodje due back soon ( I hope ) we can start getting the results again. It;s time Jeffers proved his worth too and if we can keep everyone fit there is eery possibility we can push for a playoff spot!
