McMahon Misses Wednesday Trio

Wednesday's on-loan right-back Tony McMahon will be missing for the Owls' next three matches following his straight red card in the defeat at Barnsley on Tuesday night.

The Middlesbrough man received his first marching orders of his career at Oakwell as Wednesday went down to a 2-1 defeat in the South Yorkshire derby.

And the defender will now be unavailable for Saturday's trip to Birmingham City, as well as the home clash with Plymouth Argyle next Tuesday and the trip to Crystal Palace the following weekend.

Laws' aqcuisition of Stoke City's Lewis Buxton, again on loan, could well prove to be a fine move from the Wednesday boss, with the defender set to come in at right-back in his place for the trio of matches.

Buxton didn't look great. Started in the middle with Beevers (who had a shocker himself) and looked shakey Then moved to RB when Tony went off. Got skinned all night. Surely Frankie is fit enough to start now? Had a few runs out in the reserves
