Spann Injured On Trial

It looks like Paul Sturrock needs more than yoga lessons to stop the current injury crisis at the club, after triallist Silvio Spann picked up an injury this week.

The 24-year-old Trinidad & Tobago international was brought in by Sturrock to solve the midfield problem at the club, but Spann's efforts to impress the Scot were put on hold after just one day of training.

Sturrock has been desperate to sign a midfielder to boost the squad in the fight against relegation.

Meanwhile, experienced midfielder Scot Gemmill will not join the Owls as Paul Sturrock decided against taking the former Nottingham Forest midfielder on board following a recent trial.

Sky Sports says Gemmill went walkabout to attend a coaching course without letting Sturrock know. So he's out.
