Laws: Thank God It Is Over

Wednesday boss Brian Laws breathed a sigh of relief after his men drew 1-1 at Crystal Palace - not because of the well-earned point, but for the end of his side's hectic schedule.

The Owls have suffered a dip in form a late because of playing five matches in two weeks, with Laws struggling with his thread-bare squad - winning just one, drawing one and losing the other three.

But the Owls boss has plenty to look forward to with players coming back and matches now fewer and further between, and he's hoping the draw at Selhurst Park, which helped 'stop the rot' can act as a springboard to push up the Championship table.

'It stopped the rot and that was the most important thing for me. We came here with a game plan and wanted to make sure we didn't get beaten,' he told the official SWFC website.

'This was the last game of five matches in 14 days and thank god it is over so we can get back to a little bit of normality in November. I am glad to finish that spell with a point.'

He added: 'We were excellent in the first half and thoroughly deserved the lead. We were unfortunate not to get a second goal.'
