Owls' Striker Deals Done

It's officially one in and one out as far as strikers go at Wednesday with West Brom striker Bartosz Slusarski arriving back at S6, with Deon Burton moving onto pastures new.

As reported on Vital Sheffield Wednesday yesterday, Owls boss Brian Laws has let former Derby hitman Deon Burton move to Championship relegation strugglers Charlton Athletic on loan with view to a free transfer in January.

And Laws has wasted no time in finding a suitable replacement for the Jamiacan, with former loan star Bartosz Slusarki arriving back at S6 on a one-month loan deal, also with a view to a permanent signing in January.

Laws told SWFC.co.uk: 'We know all about Bartosz and what he can do because he was on loan here last season and did ever so well. I think with encouragement and support, he can be of real benefit to us. Not only that, he is a nice guy to work with and so I would like to welcome Bartosz back to Sheffield Wednesday and wish him well.'

He continued: 'Deon has always been renowned for his honesty and endeavour and I would like to wish him well in his time with Charlton.'

Slusarski, who helped Wednesday avoid relegation last season during a six-week loan spell, is set to go straight into the squad to face Norwich City tomorrow (Saturday).
