Nervous Wait For Owls Trio

Wednesday boss Brian Laws will face a nervous wait to see the damage to Etienne Esajas, Frank Simek and Wade Small after all three were taken off injured in the win against QPR.

Simek and Esajas were both taken off in the first half with Small, Esajas' replacement, also going off with an eye injury late in the match to take the shine off the impressive victory over big-spending Rangers.

Dutch winger Esajas went straight to have an X-ray on a foot injury following the match, while Laws was forced into playing Simek due to an illness picked up by Lewis Buxton.

The duo are both likely to know the outcomes of their injuries before the clash against Bristol City on Saturday, with the duo both doubtful.

But Small could well be passed fit to play as a direct replacement for Esajas, with the former MK Dons man hit in the face by the ball, causing pain in his eye, which became bloodshot.
