McMahon Impresses For Boro

Tony McMahon's loan spell with Wednesday seems to have paid off with the right-back breaking into the Middlesbrough side for the 1-1 draw with Arsenal at the weekend.

The Boro youth product enjoyed a three-month loan spell at S6 which saw him become a regular at the back and score in his final match - the 3-2 victory over Norwich City.

Boro scouts were on hand to watch the youngster in action in the blue and white and his performances saw Boro boss Gareth Southgate throw McMahon in for the visit of Arsene Wenger's men.

And McMahon didn't let his boss down, putting in a solid performance at the back against the flair of the Arsenal attack which could see him cement the position in the coming weeks.

Alhough loving his loan spell with the Owls, McMahon was always keen to return to the Riverside Stadium to try and break into the first team at the end of his spell - and he has.

Nice one, Tony!
