Owls Show Lupoli Interest

Owls boss Paul Sturrock is interested in bringing young Arsenal striker Arturo Lupoli to Hillsborough on loan for the rest of the season according to rumours from Highbury today.

It is thought Sturrock contacted the Gunners last week with view to signing Lupoli on loan for the remainder of the season. The Scot has already made it clear he wants to add players to his depleted squad to avoid a swift return to League One.

The Italian forward has made just one senior appearance for the London club, as a substitute in the 1-0 defeat to Blackburn Rovers in February.

He's turned out four times in the Carling Cup this season, and as a result won the Carling Cup New Talent award for the current campaign.

The 18-year-old looks set to finish the country's top scorer in the reserve league, after netting 17 times in his first 15 appearances. The incredible return comes after netting 19 times last season.

Lupoli will no doubt add some much needed fire power to the Owls attack, despite the recent fine form of Deon Burton and Marcus Tudgay. But Arsene Wenger is yet to contact Sturrock about the loan, according to rumours today.

Ill eat my hat if we get Lupoli. Experts say he will be an Arsenal great in years to come! I suppose he hasn't had much luck in the first team and probably wont this season so its worth a shot. Playing in the championship must be better than playing reserve football!
